Amed, paisible village vivant de la pêche et de l'exploitation du sel est le point de départ de plusieurs sites très intéressants, mais il faut un véhicule pour aller de l'un à l'autre. Plongées soit directement de la plage (Café Garam, Lipah), soit en "Jukung" (Bunutan, Wall Satu). "Muck" sur Café Garam, où on plonge sur une pente de sable noir sur laquelle ont été implantés quelques récifs artificiels : visi très moyenne et attention au sable très fin qui ne demande qu'à venir brouiller la vision ... Dérivante assez sportive sur Bunutan qui se termine (si on arrive à se sortir du courant au bon moment) sur un splendide champ de gorgones (je n'ai pas fait cette plongée cette fois-ci, trop crevé !) ; superbe jardin corallien (gorgones, encore) sur Wall Satu ; Lipah et l'épave japonaise, enfin, que l'on peut faire en macro (c'est ce que j'ai fait) ou en ambiance, mais la visi peut ne pas être bonne. Eau à 28-29°. |

Amed is a quiet village, living from fishing and salt exploitation ; it is the starting point to many interesting diving sites, but you will need a car to get to most of them. Some of them are shore diving sites (Cafe Garam, Lipah) ; some others are "jukung" dives (Bunutan, Wall Satu). Muck diving at Cafe Garam : a black sand slope where you can find a few artificial reefs. Be careful there, the sand is very easy to lift and the visibility can be dramatically reduced. Quite "athletic" drift dive at Bunutan that ends (if you manage to get out of the stream at the right moment) into the a splendid gorgonian fans field ; another magnificent coral garden at Wall Satu ; and finally, Lipah and the "japanese" wreck, where you can shoot either macro photo or wide angle (I chose macro), but the visibility there can be rather poor. Water temperature : 28-29°. |
