Sur Lankayan, pas de tombant ; le sable est à 25-26m.

Tous les sites ont à peu près la même configuration : des récifs coralliens qui s’élèvent du fond (25-26m, donc) et culminent à 12-15m sous la surface. Visibilité très moyenne, donc pas de photos d'ambiance, seulement de la macro : nudibranches, crabes, crevettes diverses, gobies … Les sommets des récifs sont en parfait état : magnifiques champs de toutes espèces de coraux durs (peu de gorgones ou alcyonaires) et multitude des habituels poissons de corail.

Les sites que nous avons préférés : Ikok’s Rock, East Reef, South Rock et Froggie Fort.

L'île est toute petite, on en fait le tour à pied (et même à la nage) en très peu de temps. L'hôtel est seul sur l'île, pas de village ; aucune terre en vue ... Cool !

Toutes les photos ont été prises au Nikon F90X dans un caisson Hugy, avec le f/2,8 105mm micro-Nikkor et avec un ou deux flashes (Ikelite 200 et Sea & Sea YS30).

In Lankayan, no wall ; a sandy bottom no deeper than 25-26m.

All the sites are more or less identical : coral reefs rising from the bottom (25-26m) and reaching their highest point at 12-15m below the surface.The visibility is rather poor, thus, no wide angle photography, only macro : nudibranchs, crabs, shrimps, gobies, ...The top of the reef is in excellent condition : magnificent fields of many species of hard coral (almost no gorgonias or soft coral) and all the usual reef fishes.

The sites we liked best : Ikok's Rock, East Reef, South Rock and Froggie Fort.

The island is very small, you can walk (and even swim) around it quite easily. The hotel is the only inhabited place on the island, no village ; no land in sight ... Cool !

All the pictures were shot with a Nikon N90X inside a Hugy housing, with the f/2.8 105mm micro-Nikkor lens and using one or two strobes (Ikelite 200 and Sea & Sea YS30).
