La baie de Tulamben est certainement un des spots les plus appréciés à Bali : avec l'épave du USS Liberty (120m) à l'extrémité nord, un mur ("Drop off") extrêmement riche au sud, un peu plus loin (départ Jukung), le jardin corallien d'Alamanda et, au milieu, des pentes de sable noir très intéressantes doublées d'un fort joli récif que l'on peut même explorer en PMT, les plongées sont variées et toujours passionnantes pour qui aime un peu chercher les animaux plus ou moins insolites qui peuplent ces sites. Sans oublier, à quelques minutes de voiture, les sites de Kubu (jardin de coraux durs et d'éponges-barriques) et de Seraya ("muck diving" avec, en vedette, la superbe, mais trop rare crevette arlequin !). Beau temps, visi correcte ; peu de courant, légère houle, pas trop gênante (sauf sur la plongée de nuit sur le liberty!) ; eau à 28-29°. |

The Tulamben bay is probably one of the most sought after diving sites in Bali : with the USS Liberty wreck (120m) at the north end of the bay, a very rich drop off at the south end, a little farther south (jukung dive), the coral garden of Alamanda and, in betweeen, very interesting black sand slopes and a very nice "Patch reef" shallow enough to snorkel over, the dives are varied and always interesting for who likes looking for the more or less strange inahbitants of the area. And one shouldn't forget, just a few minutes drive away, the coral garden of Kubu (superb hard coral and large barrel sponges), and the black sands of Seraya ("muck diving", where the star is the magnificent, but quite rare, Harlequin shrimp !) Very fine weather, visibility OK ; light current and swell (except during the night dive on the Liberty wreck !) ; water temperature : 28-29°. |
