PHILIPPINES - VISAYAS (Apr 2005)

Deux semaines de safari aux Visayas. De Cebu à Cebu, via Moalboal, Dauin, Apo, Siquijor, Panglao et Cabilao. Voyage organisé par Abyss ( http://www.abyssworld.com/ ). Transfert en minibus de Cebu à Moalboal, puis en bateau (grande "banka") rapide, spacieux pour les autres étapes.
Le bateau n'est utilisé que pour les transferts inter îles et les plongées. On dort à terre, dans des hôtels la plupart du temps charmants, voire assez exceptionnels (Apo) ... Plongées sympas mais un peu monotones : toujours un peu le même profil : un platier très riche en coraux en excellent état et fourmillant de vie (mention spéciale pour le "sanctuaire" à Apo !) et des tombants plus ou moins riches ; certains superbes (Cabilao) d'autres plus banals (Moalboal, Apo). 2 à 3 plongées par jour. Un total de 26 plongées en 12 jours de plongée effective. |
A two-week safari in the Visayas. From Cebu City to Cebu City, via Moalboal, Dauin, Apo, Sisuijor, Panglao and Cabilao. Safari organized by Abyss ( http://www.abyssworld.com/ ). Transfer by minibus from Cebu City to Moalboal, then by boat (a large "banka"). Very nice local boat : fast and roomy. The boat was only used for transfers between islands and for diving. We always slept in hotels, most of the time in very lovely places (especially nice in Apo) ...
Dives were quite nice but a bit monotonous : almost always the same profile : very rich and colourful shallow reefs (once again, especially beautiful at the "sanctuary" in Apo), then walls more or less interesting ; some really wonderful (Cabilao), others more "ordinary" (Moalboal, Apo). 2 to 3 dives per day for a total of 26 dives in 12 days of effective diving. |

Nous étions 14 : notre groupe préconstitué de 6 photographes (dont Marc Debatty) + deux épouses plongeuses non photographes et 6 autres plongeurs ; au total, groupe très sympa. Côté photo, j'avais emporté mon Nikon F80 et son caisson Hugy ; deux flashes : Ikelite 200 et Ikelite DS125 ; trois hublots et trois optiques Nikon : le 20mm, le 60mm et le 105mm ; j'avais également un multiplicateur de focale x1,5. En pratique, j'ai peu utilisé le 105, préférant pour la macro et même souvent pour les poissons le 60mm équipé du multiplicateur de focale. Photos dans l'ensemble très réussies (pour une fois je n'ai eu aucun problème de matériel !). J'en rapporte plus de 300 ; j'en présente ici environ 200, classées en 6 catégories. |
We were a group of 14 divers, 8 of which were already friends : 6 photographers (NO digital camera !) - 2 of us were with their wives- and 6 divers we didn't know. I had brought my new Nikon F80 and its Hugy housing ; two substrobes : one Ikelite 200 and one Ikelite DS125 ; three Nikkor lenses : 20mm, 60mm and 105mm. I had also brought a x1,5 teleconverter. I didn't use much the 105mm and prefered, for macro and even for shooting fishes, to use the 60mm with the x1,5 teleconverter. Most of the pictures were good (this time, I didn't have any problem with my camera, housing or anything !) I brought back more than 300 pictures ; here, I present about 200, sorted in 6 categories.
