Cinquième séjour à Maurice en 25 ans ... 10 jours au Méridien (Pointe aux Piments), dans le Nord-Ouest de l'île, en gros à mi-chemin entre Port Louis et Grand Baie. Voyage familial, mais tout de même 8 plongées : 6 sur les sites autour de Trou aux Biches et 2 dans le nord, autour de Coin de Mire et de l'île Plate, dont la fameuse "fosse aux requins", dans laquelle il n'y avait pas de requins ! Mon caisson et mon F90X, noyés à Bali le mois dernier, n'étant toujours pas revenus de révision, j'ai continué à m'amuser avec le petit SONY DSC-P9, que j'ai utilisé en réglant la sensibilité ISO sur 400 ASA, la balance des blancs sur "nuageux" et, pour la plupart des photos, avec le filtre orangé, sauf lorsque j'utilisais l'additif grand-angle 16mm. Les sites offraient presque tous un profil quasi "carré", sur des fonds de 25-30m. L'eau était, dans l'ensemble très "chargée" ; visibilité médiocre ... Un salut amical à Jonathan CESAR, du centre Easy Dive, à la fois compétent, serviable et très sympa.

Fifth trip to Mauritius in the last 25 years ... 10 days, staying at The Méridien (Pointe aux Piments), situated in the NW of the island, more or less half way between Port Louis and Grand Baie. Family trip, but even so, I did 8 dives : 6 on the dive sites around "Trou aux Biches", and 2 in the northern islands : "Coin de Mire" and "Ile Plate" ; we went there for the famous "sharks pit"; but no sharks in the pit ! My F90X and its housing, drowned in Bali last month, not being repared yet, I continued my experiences with the the small digital camera SONY DSC-P9. I didn't use it with the fully auto settings, but set the ISO at 400 and the white balance at "cloudy". For most of the pictures, I used the orange filter, except when I mounted the 16mm wide-angle adapter. The dive profiles were almost always "square", maximum depth around 25-30m. Visibility was most of the time rather poor... A special thought for Jonathan CESAR, Easy Dive Dive center. Very pro, helpful and nice.
